Re: Bloomington
The car sure looks good. That is one fine piece of history. Only 1586 miles on that car.
I rebuilt the FI unit on that car about 30 years ago.
I wonder if anyone noticed that the inside of the original tan soft top is TAN! Not black.
Oop's, corrected to state 1577 miles. My memory failed. (been 30 years since I've seen the car though)Last edited by Michael H.; June 29, 2009, 03:29 PM.- Top

Re: Bloomington
I had the privilege of displaying my low mileage '84 in the Grand Finale Special Collection and the quality/variety of cars was awesome. As has been posted, the format will change next year, focusing on dealers, collectors, etc. rather than the cars themselves. I would assume the significant car(s) of these individuals would be present. I guess we'll have to stay tuned...- Top

Re: Bloomington
I'm glad several people looked at that green/saddle 65 and noticed the tan underside. That IS the original top.- Top

Did anyone see them trying to get the blood out of the carpet? Seems some cannot read.

Re: Bloomington-Convertible Top
Michael - It's my understanding you can get a "tan" interior convertible top like the originals. All you need to do is request it, but the I believe the current mid-year TIM&JGs call for the black interior color; so some folks have a difficult time dealing with "originality" even when they know the guidance is not as the item was originally, but they they don't want to lose points so the "reproduction" or "incorrect" items becomes the "de facto" standard. The tan color of the convertible top interior seems somewhat like the installation of the 63 horns; or the OE by ANCO windshield wiper holders on 65s, 66s, and 67s; or the "B" stamped ralley wheels on early 67s.
I love this hobby and there are a number of items that need to be "tarted up" but sometimes it's a challenge to "turn the ship around" even when we're presented with the facts from the AIM and original cars.
Maybe we need something like Chevrolet Service Bulletins. How about NCRS Judging Bulletins to alert, update, and implement judging guidance in a timely fashion in situations where corrections are warranted so we don't perpetuate inaccurate information.
