    Bloomington

Went to Bloomington yesterday. Wow, there were some great cars! To the owner of the red 65 FI survivor on the judging field, my apologies for the drool! Some outstanding 59's for the gold year. Once again this year the selection of nice original and NOS parts were slim. Every year the selection dwindles. I brought plenty of cash but came back empty handed. Still had a great time admiring all the cars.

I have been watching the Mecum auction. Seems a great deal of cars are not meeting their reserves "as the bid continues" as they say.

Guess the economy has finally caught up with the cars as a dollar can buy a great deal more that two years ago. As most people suffered a 40% hit on their 401(k) plans that segment of the customer base as dwindle significantly.

We went on Friday, and really enjoyed the Special Collection. Too bad it's the last one.
There were a lot of new C6's there, and the new car dealers were really making deals.

It was a perfect day, the weather was hot, but the wind would cool you off.

I was unable to find any "Treasures", but I did buy some tools.

We enjoyed seeing all the old friends, boy are we getting old!!

Thursday night, during the film presentation, it was announced as the
            "last Special Collection".

"Something new to come next year".

            Hope this helps.

As mentioned this year was the last Special Collection.
I spoke to Bill Locke and the format will change starting next year.
The general format will be to highlight people who have been important to the Corvette hobby.
This year they also presented a fantastic video covering the 25 years of the Special Collection. Very well prepared presentation.

Congrats Tim! A very impressive car. A red 65 FI with real KH knock offs is my all time favorite. Love the big blocks, but there's nothing like that beautiful FI unit sitting on top of the engine.

Is that the red/red 65 FI car that Krughoff owned years ago?

We had a GREAT time a Bloomington and it was fun to meet and say Hi to all the guys from the NCRS . WE received out 35 year Gold Timer Banner and we Proudly Displayed our St Louis Chapter Banner in our swap spot.

The old girl made me very proud. She received her Gold Certification. Now we can go back to do what she likes to do. Going to cruse nights and doing burn outs.

I haven't seen that car for almost 30 years. Incredible car!
