Also, that rare '66 cowl induction hood better be on it. I have a photograph that declares it's existance.
in 66 there were 15 M22 listed. what was available back then depended on whose phone # you had.

i don't think those days will ever come back. Mrs Clem used to refer to those "care packages" from chevy. private race teams were important because chevy was not suppose to be in racing back then.

I needed 2 L/88 crate engines in 1971. There were none anywhere in the parts system. I called Piggins, he found two in a warehouse on the West Coast. They were there to be converted to marine engines. Long story short, I had the engines in two weeks. My local parts manager just shook his head.

                Re: 69 Zl-1

some things can still happen even today. when i ordered my 08 corvette there was a constraint on the paint color and the type of wheels. when the constraints were lifted my dealer did not have a allotment,so i made a call. mrs clem and i were in the Poconos when my dealer called and said someone had put my order back into the system and they had not done it.

A few months ago there was a blurb in Corvette Fever in which said they received a letter from the drug dealer in jail inquiring on the status of his ZL1 and proclaiming his innocence.

If you needed something MoPar early to mid '60's you would call Ronnie Householder. They would answer the phone "Fleet Services".

I wonder how F**d hid their special racing programs?

I am sure that you remember Southern Engineering and Developement Company. SEDCO to the young'uns on here, the parents of the '57 Black Widow race cars

Interesting Clem. I knew that Piggins had come from Hudson, but had forgotten. I recognized several of the names, I was in Darlington when Paul McDuffie got killed. Looooong time ago

Ok, there's a surprise under the hood. Anyone know what it is?

Does this fall into the "Engineering Exercises" category?

                              Yes, it's no surprise.
If I recall there was a magazine article a while back about this car. The owner (at the time) had zero documentation. So, without that the car just has a nice lightweight big block installed.
