My 67 has no tab on the front end alighment shim to help remove them (I guess that is what the tab is for). They are just flat across the top. Someone is advertising on ebay for front end shims with tabs as being correct for 1967. Are my non tabbed shims incorrect? They have been there since early 1971 when I bought it. I can not imagine anyone changing them all. Thank you Dale

Re: C-2 front end alighment shims
Dale,
Front end alignment shims had a tab but NO hole.
Shown in photo below.
Shims used at core support had no tab. Flat across top
I can imagine that both types may have been used.Attached Files- Top

Dale-----
Attached is a photo of a correct, original shim. There were 3 different thicknesses used----1/8", 1/16", and 1/32". Is it POSSIBLE that some cars originally used alternate configuration shims? Yes, I suppose it's possible, but I don't think such shims would be "TYPICAL of factory production".Attached FilesIn Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Dale-----
By the way, the original shims were not plated; they were natural steel and rust quickly. The reproduction shims are very close to the originals in configuration but are zinc plated. I much prefer the zinc plated variety. If these were available in stainless steel, I'd prefer those even more.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
