    Air Cleaner Stud

What are the differences , if any, between the original and repo 1957 4" stud that mounts in the carb (2X4's) and attaches the air cleaner?

    Re: Air Cleaner Stud

Steve, original studs had tapered thread on air cleaner end, rolled threads and if I recall correctly were not threaded end-to-end, just on each end. On 56-7 studs (carb, water neck) there was also a indented circle on the end of one of the thread and not always on the visible end. Don't know if this was a manufacturer's mark or a machining process mark. Gary....

The carb studs also have a "D" stamped into them. These are available as a good repro but the major vendors do not sell the correct ones.
