    Maybe they hit the bottom of the supply bin when they pulled your spring, never say never, or always.

    Well, looks like my June 67 with its single hook has had its jack retainer replaced at some point in its life. Funny that after finding so many original things on my car that you find something so insignificant that is not likely original.
