    1958 wiring

Hi there, I have the wiring diagram and it shows a black and white ground going to the engine compartment but not where it goes. It would take a 1/4" bolt. Second question is the black radio ground the assembly manual shows it going to the valve cover. I don't have a hole there already and am not sure this is correct, can some one confirm that is correct.

I believe they both wind up on the bolt that retains the valve cover.

For the black/white the terminal ends have holes in them that the VC bolt passes through, not the spade type.

i believe the black and white ground goes under the upper rear drivers side valve cover fastner but i think the ground strap goes under the spark plug wire bracket(that also fastens the left vertical ignition shield) at rear most intake manifold bolt on the drivers side. AIM ought to show both locations. mike

Aim shows the black radio ground going to the corner of the valve cover, not a valve cover bolt. Are you guys sure about location?

About all I can say is I just went out to the barn and looked at my '62. There are two descrete wires (one larger than the other) firmly attached to the top rear valve cover bolt. Everything Works, and looks like it belongs there. Same wiring as a '58 in the heater and engine compartment.

I believe black/white wire comes throught LH firewall and attaches to upper rear VC bolt.

On right hand side, 1 black ground from wiper motor base goes to RH upper VC bolt.

If radio equipped, another black wire also goes to the upper valve cover bolt on RH side.
