were the spare tires balanced and did they have weights, also did they ever use more than one weight next to the other , say you needed 4 ounces.

Re: C2 spare tire weights, did they have them
C2 and C3 Corvette wheel and tire assemblies were static balanced only and weights were supposed to be used only on the INSIDE rim of the wheel (apparently, so there would be no interference with hub-caps or trim rings). If any assembly required more than a total of 5 ounces of weight, that assembly was supposed to be rejected. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: C2 spare tire weights, did they have them
What if your tires and wheels do not require weights for balancing. We worked with my 67 (Cokers and Ralleys) until it did not need weights. We did not worry about the spare. Deduct for no weights? Dale- Top

Percent of cars requiring no wheel weights at all?
Dale,
I think what a judged would ask him or herself is what percent of rims/times on C1, C2, or C3 cars required no wheel weights? Let, me guess that the answer is a few percent. Then lets ask what percent of cars required no balance weights on any of the 5 tires/rims? The odds would be very slim indeed. I think most judges, including myself, would feel reasonably justified in making a deduct or a partial deduct when judging a C1-C3 having all five rim/tires with no wheel weights. I don't have any experience with C4, C5's, so the above hypothetical could be different for newer years.
