Hi all I have (2) questions

1. I need to know if anyone has any pictures of an ORIGINAL 7029207 DA Q-Jet (1969 4spd 350 350hp)that they could email me?? (anthonypax@optonline.net) I am trying to tell a real carb from a service replacement re-stamp

2. Does the date for the carb have to be before the engine built day or the car assembly date??

Caburetor was installed at St. Louis (See AIM for part number or chart), so the date of the carburetor is based on vehicle assembly date.

If the 'restamp' has been professionally done, you may not be able to detect any differences...

I thought that there was a difference between a service replacement carb (re stamped) and the original carbs.

By re-stamp I assume you are referring to a factory service carb, not an attemp fake a carb stamping.

I have what I'm pretty sure is a 7029207 service replacement carb. It is stamped: 7029207 DA
0454

I believe that the build date of this carb is the 45th day (Feb. 14) of 1974, which would make it a service replacement carb.

I'm not too up on the history of this carb, but I think that it was produced for a while after 1969 and was used as a service replacement as opposed to rebuilding the original carbs.

After all, these were just used cars at one time, & it was cheaper & easier to replace parts than rebuild them.

I don't have any pics of the numbers, I'll try to post some by the end of the week.

I was told that there is a physical difference between an original & replacement carb. Some people re stamp replacement carbs with a 1969 date and try to pass them off as originals.

I have a replacement carb now, but I want to know what to look for in an original carb.
