    Ken, I believe that the test car had a 3.36 rear. The testers noted that the car was still in second gear and with a 4.56 gear it would have run in the 11s.

      You're probably right. The test I had a copy of was an automatic ZL-1 with the Chevy guys trying out different header configurations & "letting" HOT ROD document their activities. With 10 1/2" slicks & a stock suspension (modified w/bump stops) they, GM & HOT ROD test pilots, were claiming 10.80's & 11 flat runs til the Turbo broke. They were doing 5 grand neutral starts!

            There are previously unpublished photos of that automatic equipped ZL-1 test car in Corvette Racing Legends. I was under the impression that it had 5.13 gears and was using a Can Am block for over 500 cubes. The tires were too narrow to handle all the power.
