A different approach to engine storage. This is targeted at airplane owners, but should do the same in a car I assume.
    Any opinions??
    TEMPEST AA1000 ENGINE PRESERVATION SYSTEM
Reciprocating aircraft engines have a propensity to accumulate moisture, especially during times when the aircraft is idle and not being utilized. The accumulated condensation causes oxidation within the engine resulting in accelerated wear and abnormally high iron count on oil analysis reports. The Tempest (patent pending) AA1000 EPS replaces the moist air in the engine with dry air thereby displacing the condensation.

The EPS simply attaches to the oil filler neck with the appropriate adapter (included) and plugs in to standard AC power. The unit should run continuously. When the blue desiccant material turns pink it may be reconstituted through a simple baking process. Please click here to visit the Tempest AA1000 Engine Preservation System webpage.

    • Low cost
    • 90 day warranty with an optional extended

At first before seeing the commercials I thought it must be STP like, then on Two Guys Garage they did a demo of it penetrating the metal--likely very porous--and I thought "so what, oils do penetrate." I wondered what happened to the Dura Lube and Slick 50 commercials. Looks like the Govt. has a lot of catch up to do, just like with patents.

Not to be rude, but I think we've lost the plot.

The goal is to put the entire car in low humidity storage. It doesn't do much good having a pristine engine if the frame is rotted.

I could buy a lifetimes' worth of room dehumidifiers for the cost of that unit and it would help preserve everything in the room- other toys, tools, furniture, etc.etc

If you're stuck with a pole barn on the wrong side of a swamp, think about a car bag with dehumidifier packs.

Yeah, but he has a temperature controlled garage that is larger than the homes many of us live in, so....
