      Henry,
Here's a tech question. What are your FP bolts used for? I haven't a clue about my FP bolt. It was in the bottom of my Corvette bolt coffee can.
      Thanks

        Bryan,
I'm not sure, I found mine in a drawer that I put my other "orphaned" fasteners. Having only done 1 restoration it would just be a lucky guess on my part. Hopefully someone will recognize them and post. With the type of head it looks like it could have been used to hold some sort of bracket in place, but just a guess.
From the picture you can see it is a 9/16th head with 1 3/4" overall length. I doubt the one for the 3x2 set-up is 9/16 or that long.

I've always thought that the FP bolts were the correct ones for the '67 tri power air cleaner. That's a great shot, Steve.

            Bryan + Henry,

those FP's are 65-66-67 BB intake bolts. Also used for the same yeas on the bellhousing to block.

Here's what I have seen on FP vs. LF most all 67's have had FP's very few had LF's I have found most 69's to have LF and not FP. I have not seen enough untouched original 68's to say. But I would lean twards the LF for the 68's.

                Steve,

I'm working from memory here because my car is still in its baggie for the winter, but the LF bolts looks correct for my unrestored 67 435.

We've now taken a step from saying FP are the only ones ever used in the history of earth to a member now saying there was another and it was LF. From a production vulnerability standpoint, it seems as though there would be more than one. Maybe, as Rich says, only one was used at a time depending on build date and/or model year. I have judged Flight and Bowtie with Dickie and others and I don't remember ever deducting point(s) for other than FP.

This is good to discuss and learn more. It's the NCRS way.

                  Regards,

Thanks Rich! The thread length on the bolt is 1 1/4".
I guess it's back to the bottom of the coffee can for my bolt.

Not me Bryan, I'm still looking for that machinist to operate on mine. Heck, I'd take $375 for them.

I need to contact the buyer of those bolts, and tell them I have original 1967 air from original 67 impala tires stored in a portable air tank. Make him a deal....500.00 , and he can keep the tank.

Clem, Yeah I know him too. Went on a 67 I believe. Wanna play have to pay I guess. Meanwhile I wasted a lot of time looking for those 750 buk bolts. Thinking of getting them reproed if they are worth that kind of buks.

                            John,

Back in 89 the owner of the only california 67 L-89 paid 20K for a set of 5 redlines when I was at bloomington.

Mark, you got it. This was just after Ken and Gary finished it. He said the tires were the crowning touch.
