Break-in Additive - Redline vs EOS

Can anyone recommend Readline's Break-in Additive over the EOS additive ?

This is a for a 283 with hydraulic lifters (245 HP).

    Mark -

EOS will work just fine for break-in, especially with a stock valvetrain.

      Mark,

I'll ditto what John says about EOS. I've assembled dozens of motors and used EOS on every one. No failures yet! Also, generously used moly on the camshaft and lifters.

Redline is a great company with many good products. I'll wait for some testimonials and analysis by some people who understand those products from the chemical compositioin.

      EOS works. Tried and proven.

Well, I will jump in and add to the list of satisfied customers for EOS on my 67 L-79.

The efficacy of the original EOS is pretty well proven. Are the above EOS testimonials referring to the old formulation? Does this also apply to the new, reduced zinc/phosphate formulation (designed not to foul the catalytic converters in newer cars)?

The new part number EOS is supposedly the same formulation as the old part number.

                Mark,

                Here's some additional info.

In the following thread, we have it on good authority that GM says it's the same formulation.

Here's the thread about EOS available again.
