I need your advice. I am having all the rubber suspension parts on my '65 Coupe replaced this week. The shop wants to refinish the old parts that will be put back on.
The shop owner told me last week that the old parts are pitted as if this car spent a lot of time in the past, near salt water, perhaps because the car now has only 48K miles. He said that the old suspension parts show some pitting. The parts were spray can painted by the previous owner. The shop wants ~$800 to refinish the old parts to original finish. What I need to know is, will sealing over the pitting, making the parts look factory fresh, something that I need to do to get my car ready for Flight judging?
