Here's my latest attempt to reproduce the color after I examined the pictures Terry suggested. I started with gun bluing that created more of a bronze tone. Then I mixed the blue layout fluid with green paint and created a teal color. Next I coated the strut rods with blue layout fluid only. After drying, I rubbed gently with a rag soaked in laquer thinner to create a multi-layer, bleed through color effect. Here's some pictures for review.
