If you have a pic of what it looks like. I will look in my collection of pipes and see if it is there. I have some but with out the part numbers. I think you need the 3880401 and 3880402

It was 1991 when I restored that car. 67 silver / black convertible 427/390 with air cond and powerglide, speed minder, PS,PB,PW, tele and vinal hardtop only. Neat car. Sold it in 1995 to finance a new business. That was a bad decision.

We did a body off and I was very lucky to find the exhaust pipes. NOS from two dealers. Did a nationwide search. Lucky to land them. I put N-11 on the car even though POWERGLIDE 427/390's never had them. That car had 3:55 positraction and really flew. Terrible gas mileage, but who was counting.

JUST FOR FUN,.....Has anyone used Allan Exhaust Systems ? For a long time they were the only action in town reproducing N-11 .

Also, has anyone repoduced the front pipes for 66 and 67 powerglide 427/390hp cars ? It is a very unique pipe and impossible to find item.

Yes, I put the Allens N11 exhaust on my silver fuel car. If you are standing behing the car when it idles it sounds great, throaty with a nice pop from the 30/30 cam. When I get on it, it sounds good to, but in general, it is pretty quiet and I don't think it sounds all that close to original off-road pipes. Dennis' 365 coupe sounds a lot better and of course he has GM N11 pipes.

Well unless CC has changed their computer for the driver's side front pipe it's not close. Needed some front pipes for my N11 system and ordered them, right side fits, but left side was just NO Way! Calls to CC and many pictures comparing the two resulted in - The Computer is Programmed and does not make mistakes.

Having access to GM service replacements for 64 N11 and offering to correct CC pipes resulted in less than any interest, I now buy elsewhere. Everyone has an off day and we all have stories about vendors that believe they are perfect, however I constantly find the other guy who is willing to listen and change to make their product better.

See photo of the differences on the front left pipe - have been told that if one orders a complete exhaust system from CC it will fit, however the piece meal approach does not work. Just FYI

Alan, Very nice job you did on the pics. It's not easy is it friend. My 63, the LWC has a nice set of Allens exhaust. The exhaust sounds wonderful and all those that hear the sound agree. They also fit perfect and were quite affordable. Very nice people to deal with. I really pulled a boner on my 63 resto project though. Since 1979 I had kept a set of N11 exhaust up in the attic with the intentions of putting them on the 63 someday as the exhaust on it did not have the muffler and exhaust pipe welded together.
Anyhow what I failed to realize all those years is the my Feb-Mar car has the tool box area under the seats hanging down and the off road exhaust wouldn't begin to fit.( I sold the NOS set) But the Allens fit perfect all the way. Configuration of the pipes is close but not perfect but good enough. The judges were more concerned with the black paint on the exhaust than anything else.
By the way the Allens exhaust went thru the rear exhaust panel dead nuts. The tail pipe extensions are in perfect alignment which truely amazed me. JD

Waldron's N-11 mufflers are unique and are built specifically for the N-11 systems. Our N-11 mufflers are not the same as our OE line or our performance line of mufflers.

Maybe you've read about how this project came about:

In 2008, Tom Komendera, Treasurer of the Michigan chapter of the NCRS and Werner Meier, owner of MasterWorks Automotive Services, asked if we could re-create the N-11 mufflers because none of the "Off-road" systems that were available in the marketplace offered a faithful re-creation of the original sound.

To meet this challenge, we completed extensive research of the N-11 muffler design and construction, including both mechanical and non-destructive optical inspection of original, welded (GM) assemblies. Jerry Kohn, owner of Corvette Central, was instrumental in completing the research.

As a GM licensee, we obtained - and comply with - the Chevrolet drawings for these mufflers. Our initial prototypes underwent on-vehicle comparisons to original, GM parts to verify that our mufflers sounded exactly like the originals. Once we knew we had the proper acoustics, flow and dimensional characteristics, we invested thousands in the tooling for the correct case, the correct internal plates and the tubes to make our N-11 mufflers. Our mufflers were approved by GM before we could introduce them as licensed "GM Restoration Parts".

We faithfully re-produced the original muffler design, including all of the internal details. We are very proud of the results of this project.

Several companies market "N-11" or "Off-road" systems, but Corvette Central is the only company using our correct, licensed N-11 mufflers.

Thanks Guys for all the input and feedback. It looks like some like the CC product and others like the Gardner product. I must admit I think I am now a little more confused as to which system is the right one. It sounds like both need some finishing touches at this point and there might not be enough of them (CC and Gardner) out in the market yet to make a fair assesment of either. Ill be very curious to hear what is said about both of these exhaust systems as more of them end up on our cars.
