63 drum brake backing plate

Can someone tell me if the backing plates for 63-64 drum brakes are available? I am not having much luck locating replacements.

I have yet to see them as reproduction parts. I have seen them on eBay from time to time, but candidly, not too often. Perhaps some of the other guys will have better information for you.

I do not know if they are the same as a 63 Vette but someone, Joe, may know.

I do not have the part numbers available to confirm this, but I'm under the impression the brakes shoes are the same as the full size early 60 Impala. Thus the backing plates and brake cylinders and brake parts may be interchangeable. You may be able to cross referenced usable part numbers.

Believe it's 3858826/825 for right/left and called a plate.

The ebay items may not be correct, at least for a Mar64 car. Look for 4 holes tomount on control arm, the center area comes up to far, the hole for cylinder mount is wrong configuration and no added on support for upper center nut.

Try Corvette City. They're in suburbs of Chicago. Ask for lou. 847-433-6610. He might have these as he has a lot of mid year parts.

Is a 57 Chevy's front and or rear backing plates same as any year solid axle Corvette?

OK at least per the
65 parts book, the '63-64 Brake backing plates 3832519 and 520 are the same for 63 and 64 pass and corvette applications, except SHP brakes. Rears are Corvette only 3847719-720 again except SHP brakes.
