I am by no means an expert, but, over on another forum, when this conversation came up, the replies were....

"With a proper fixture these metering bodies can be pressed straight as i have been doing that for years. NEVER machine them flat as you will remove all the protrusions that "bite" into the gasket to help it seal."

Any truth to this? Or is machining flat an acceptable procedure?

sounds like one of my posts and yes that is true. PS i straighten mine cold but i guess you could use some heat.

Forgot to add one thang.....THROW AWAY THE BIG SCREW DRIVERS!!!

if you think that is a problem how about when holley changed to hex head bolts. i get them now with the threads pulled out of the main body.
