66 Brake line clip

Can someone help me with some approximate dimensions for the location of the green brakeline clip on the front frame crossmember? In the AIM it looks like it's off-center but there are no dimensions. This is a new frame with none of the gasline, brakeline holes drilled. I'v been copying a 67 but the line is different on the 66 in this area.

That looks like dead center near the top. The repro clip that we have doesn't look like that one but I think I'll use it anyway. It's like the two used on the crossver in the rear where there's one on ech side.

I believe early 66's did not have the clip and one of the members was doing research as to approximate when the changeover occured

I have an early 66 (BB serial #1508) and when I get home on Monday I will check for a clip on the front cross member and get back to you.

66 Brake line clip; changed during the model year

I believe that early '66s had the spring-like clip at the center and later cars used the two screw-based clamps about 18" on either side of the center, but no longer used the center clip. Check the archives as someone was definitely researching when the change-over occurred.

My early "66 big block (ser#1508) has the clip in the center like the pic that you received earlier. It is as it was prior to frame off rebuild.
