I think that's a good guess. 55's had blue script, 56 the engine was painted red with silver script (both had log type exhaust manifolds). The 57 was first year with ram horn exhaust manifolds and, as you say, the last year that the script was painted. Now we're talking "passenger car" engines here as of course no Vettes had 2-barrel intake manifolds.

Great link! I enjoyed looking at some real images of the attack on Pearl Harbour and damage to American and Japanese carriers in the Pacific. In the Corvette images there's one photo of Lucy Johnson (I assume Lyndon Johnson's daughter) driving her 65 Corvette convertible with a Secret Service agent seated beside her---neat!
