I have the later "SAE" M/C cover which I also got a deduct for. I really don't want to spend the money for another cover that I'm still going to get the same deduct for.

I just took a look at my original owner 68's original master cylinder cap. It does not have the word "ONLY" that I could see. I am the only one that has rebuilt my master cylinder. It also has the J and numbers imprinted. It has not been anywhere that someone would have changed it out, I do all the maint.
      My 68 is FEB built.

Thanks Jim! Maybe a correction in the 4th edition.

And this stirs the pot even further. The companies offering the "correct" M/C covers offer a 1967 only without the SAE J1703. They offer the SAE J1703 as correct for 68-69, which seems to be inline with Jim's cover and the one I have. So it appears to me that the JG is wrong with the "ONLY" stamp and the full text application.

My car is an August 5, 1968 build and it also has the cylinder cap with the J and numbers. I'm assuming this was always on the car but have not been able to talk to the prior owners to verify it was original. I purchased the car from an estate. I feel it's possible that the later 68 production cars may have had the 69 cylinder cap. Maybe a JG upgrade issue.
