I've seen that, lots of holes in this one as to what is expected, you can see in the picture the original style star washer.

My '66 L-72 alternator sheet (A3) shows the part number for the split lock washer (187119), and so does the illustration.

Hi John,

For the sake of not repeating, a few days ago in this same thread Wayne posted what the engineering definition of those part numbers were, the 696 alt got the lock washer, the 693 a star washer, as defined by the part numbers.

In fact you can look at his post picture and mine and we are looking at the same star washer for the 693 alternator.
