John Hinckley nominated for NCM Hall of Fame

Today at the annual business meeting of the Michigan Chapter of the NCRS, John Hinckley's nomination for the NCM Hall of Fame was officially announced. Presenting the nomination at the meeting were Len Palmer, a computer engineer from California who met John though the CRPL, and Alex Mair, one of John's mentors at GM. Mair is the former head of Engineering for Chevrolet, former Pontiac General Manager, former GM VP, and more. At 87 he is still active in the automotive field and loves to talk about it.

Len and Alex have spearheaded the nomination process over the past 3 years and many others have supported them along the way. The nomination has been presented to the NCM, and now it's a matter of waiting to see if or when John "makes the cut." Over 400 pages of documentation were submitted with the application.

I have never met the man, but I very much enjoy and learn so much from his posts. The knowledge he displays and his dedication to the hobby I would hope ( as you say ) that there is no doubt that he will make the cut. In fact I find it hard to think that he not a member already. I only met John briefly at the Winsor Regional in 2004, but after reading his very informative tech articles in Corvette Enthusiast I subscribed & ordered all the back issues I could get. Congratulations on your well deserved nomination. You certainly have my support.
