Looks like the hose was pulled through a tight spot somewhere; or could it have been mice?

I cheated. On my 74 L-48 the original fuel pump to fuel line hose still had it's original clamps and were very rusty on the exterior (nice on the interior) and needed to be replaced. I happen to be at an Auto Zone one day and saw a package of small spring hose clamps that contained both the green and black types with rounded ends for about $3.00 for a package of 9 I believe. I filed the rounded ends square and touched up the edges with Testor flat green paint #1164 (like John suggested) and replaced mine.
        Marty:

Well I got by Autozone and found the spring clamp package which included two of the green...both of which had the rounded edges. (just remembered early guys don't like the rounded edge type spring clamps) Looked like the type finish I've seen on C3s. I'll post a picture next time I'm shooting

I posted it in a new thread about a week ago.
No one paid it any attention:

              Patrick,
You shouldn't fool with the minds of us old folks. Great discovery though.

                Thanks.

I'll be working on the car over the winter and "hope" to bring it to the Chapter Meet in early June.

Tempo is not in business anymore. Moeller purchased it. Their focus, as was Tempo's is the marine industry. Moeller lists a zinc chromate green in a spray can. I just asked a marine dealer to order a couple of cans for me. I tried a can of zinc phosphate green and it does not cover no matter how thick you apply it. I searched successfully in the local savage yard for clamps. This is kind of tricky because usually the gas tanks and engines are removed.

Did the zinc chromate green from Moeller work?
