That arch is a part of the National Park Service, and there is an interesting display about the prominence of St. Louis in the settling of the United States, a video about the construction of the arch -- quite a feat of construction in its day -- and one can ride an "elevator" to an observation room at the top of the arch. That is quite a view, if you don't have claustrophobia. I would bet there is more than a few things on-line bout the arch.
This photo was as it was nearing completion.

There is a 1960 Shriner Corvette that still has it's original paint in Lincoln, Nebraska. I have not seen it, but a member of our Nebraska Chapter owns it.

Dan bought that car from me. I got it from Steve Hendrickson because I thought I wanted a big block. When I left Steve's shop, the car ran about 10 miles and spun a bearing. We found out later that someone had installed a couple of bearing caps backwards. I went through the engine (Steve was very fair in helping with the cost), and thought I had a pretty fast car. A race against a 930 Porsche (? I know it wasn't a plain vanilla 911) with nitrous convinced me otherwise. It was kind of a strange car (convertible, 390 HP 454, automatic, radio delete, and Corvette Bronze. About this time, I decided I didn't really need an Orange (let's face it) car, so I sold it to Dan. To his credit, he is the one who traced it back to it's Shriner origins.

This car taught me that I was really a small block C2 guy, and I never missed not having it.

Yeah, makes the thread even more interesting to read. I'd like to see the photo they were talking about.
