      Where required as Michael pointed out above, the dash end tabs were masked and painted in Final Paint Repair, which was after the car came off the Final Line (with no interior soft trim in it), and before the Final Trim Line (which is where all the interior soft trim was installed).

        Thanks John. I'd like to add one thing to that. The only thing that was masked/shielded when the dash end tab was shot was the side of the dash pad.
        That explains the overspray on the interior light switch. It also explains the dry spray around the dash tab.

          If it were me and only wanted a dull finish for judging, or until it is determined that gloss was correct, whatever I did I would want it to be temporary. I'd try lightly spraying hair spray on the door jambs. It will wash off it you dont like it.
