'67 Carpet cut behind the seats....

Right behind the seats is an almost vertical cargo stop, which has carpet installed. On the other side of this piece, the carpet wraps around and then down to the cargo area.

There is the plastic parking brake handle cover which has two screws in the rear, holding it in place, which are located behind in the cargo hold.

My question is.... are these two screws just bolted in under the carpet or is there a cut flap in that area, like is done on the carpet for the seat support brackets? If there is supposed to be a flap, that would facilitate the removal of the parking brake cover. Thanks for any information. PT

    Pat -

Many original cars have an oval cutout in the carpet on the back side of the luggage stop panel around those two screws.

I wasn't sure what John was referring to, so I took a look at my original 67 and lo and behold:

Have seen lots of originals cut in a football shape.

Thanks for the heads up guys. It looks like the vote is unamimous, so I'll cut the carpet accordingly. PT

            Patrick,

Here's a picture of both sides of 67 rear divider carpet:

Thanks for the info. I received my carpet this week and will be working on it soon. Does anyone have a picture of the underside of the cargo cover. I want to put my JP Stevens sticker in the right spot.
              Thanks.
