    67 L71 tachometer tester

Anyone know how to hookup a RPM tester to a BB w/TI? It reads 0 when connected normally as to a points distributor. Simply wanting a check for the gauge in the dash. The car is running fine so I'm assuming the TI amplifier requires a different connection.

    Tom -

The '67 Chassis Service Manual says test tach connections are the same as with the points system, but adds: "...however, before attempting to connect a test tachometer into the primary circuit, check with your instrument supplier to ensure that satisfactory readings can be obtained and the breakerless system will not be damaged by the tachometer that is to be used."

As the book says, not a good idea.
