That's a great idea. I'm happy to see my extra parts got to someone that needs them. I've also been blessed with parts from friends and members who have helped me with parts I could find nowhere else.

We have the "Driveline" on line now for parts!!! Do we really need another forum? Another forum also means more work for John and others to police. If you want to give away parts just list them in the "Driveline" and I am sure you can unload them quickly and for free if you keep the ads short.

I see this as continuing to build and reinforce the community. The strength of a forum like this is to continue to build our group and help each other out. I don't see why we shouldn't have a separate pay-it-forward forum. It would just be one more reason to join the NCRS and gain access to this forum and the wealth of knowledge and generosity in this group. Passing it off to the driveline just sucks the lifeblood out of a forum like this -- people are far more inclined to answer a request, than write up a laundry list of stuff they don't need. That said, I'd be happy to help moderate if more help is needed, if it means we can get more value out of this forum.

Now that we can get the Drive Line on Line even tho it's a little later after it's mailed out , why not a small add on for people that would like to give out some small items they don't longer need that again isn't worth the time or money to advertise . Like a good deed ! ( what goes around comes around) I think most would welcome it ! I was (informed) when I just inquired about locating a timing cover I should use the Drive Line .Was I the only one here asking where to locate something?? I seem it get (informed) often when I ask or have a idea that don't meet some ones idea of NCRS .I like asking questions , posting accessory pic. And questioning our hobby? I really am surprised I'm still able to post here. but may be not for long!!

Exchanging idea's should always be permitted as long as it is done in a positive & constructive manner... I would be the last to remove them when it meets these criteria.

The decision to pick them up is with the board. We as IT team (Gary C, John and myself) sometimes pick things up if they are really small and make a proposal of such an implementation. If new functionality is really different from what we have or is changing policies or takes a lot of work to implement then we chack first with the board to consider them and make a decision and desired planning. Then we'll try to fit it in the list of outstanding things we want to do...

Great idea and as someone esle posted, this is done every Xmas on the Corvette Forum.
I have participated many years and have been on the receiving end and the giving end.
Often if the shipping is pricey, the receiver will pay shipping or part of it.
It turns out to be the largest thread on that Forum around Xmas with people donating all kinds of neat stuff and it sure does build some lasting friendships. Some of us have 30 plus years of accumulated doubles and triple sin parts from restorations and repairs and whaever and don't mind helping a fellow Corvette owner with something they need and we no longer need.
I think it is a great idea and hope NCRS will allow it.

Members might try what I have done and plan to do in the future. I have listed in our chapter newsletter an item is available for free to one of our members. Gave away a service replacement radiator awhile back and made a friend happy.

Great to hear! There's a couple reasons this board is a success. One is the NCRS has a GREAT group of members who are willing to share what they know. And the other is the guys administrating the board are SUPER and know what works best. You guys aren't afraid to take on more work when it benefits our members. Keep up the GREAT work you do, it is appreciated!!

As far as a name, we have all talked about Pay it Forward, so why not use it.
