Great idea--I have seen this work for the last 2 years on the Corvette Forum. I believe there was a thread for C2 and another for C3. Basically if you have something, list it or better yet take a photo. Postage is paid by the lister and yes when and if you need something it is shipped to you gratis. Of course on heavier items I saw people offering to pay postage or pick up the item. I couldn't imagine a need to police this. The good will it generated between forum members was staggering.Comment

Like I said I thought it would be a good idea ? I have a 55 short block I'd give away if some one near me wonted it and other stuff also like a 56 engine car, having AC marking on the pad complete block I don't need, 58 car PG , Corvette PG torque convertor for C1 having the 32 bolts. Oh well!!

Hello all,
"NCRS Pay it Forward" gets my vote as well.
As to potential copyright infringement, while I am not an attorney, the concept has been around for centuries, the term has been around since at least 1951, and is used by a number of organizations, so I wouldn't think there's an issue.

I think it is a great thing to give away my old unneeded parts, and also a great thing for those who could use and appreciate them. One caution though. I just got through with a contentious dealing with Chicago Corvette Supply (should have looked at the threads on that Al Fierke first), and think it would be nice to keep the dishonest out of the loop when we do this. It is a sad thing but there are people out there who would take advantage of our generosity and possibly abuse this great idea. Then again, I think of the flip side, about the good in most people and think -Lets do it.

As they say, there are a few bad apples in every basket. Unfortunately that's probably true with our own membership. We just gotta weed them out and as you said make others aware and keep the rotten ones out of the loop.

I've never had a problem dealing with other Corvette guys about buying parts and have bought may be two items from Corvette dealers in the last 20 years.
I have a circle of friends when I'm looking for that small original part that most dealers don't have now days. Some of the hardest parts to locate are the small parts that dealers and sellers don't have or list . I read here people looking for some thing small and if I have it I sent it to those people because I know their not a dealer and I make a friend.
