Re: On the Road to National
Gary,
look forward to meeting you!
got to the hotel in Front Royal about 1500 hours, after about a 2-hour drive from my house - tried to keep speedo steady at 70 MPH; tach at 3300 RPM; oil pressure held steady at about 60 pounds; temp at about 170 degrees; Lady was chomping at the bit! (VBG) - 101 miles from house to hotel and topped off gas tank with 5.6 gallons, so didn't do too bad on mileage!
there is a 1967 black/red stinger 427 and a 1958 also here at the hotel as I type this - see all @ National!
will post more laterRick Aleshire

Re: On the Road to National
JD,
battery is holding up well - Lady fires right up every morning and just a hint of acid spray through the caps - got the maintenance free battery in the passenger foot well - averaging almost 18 mpg for the trip so far - got me as the leader for the C1/C2 cars, so got to drive sensibly, instead of speeding along with all the new Z06's (VBG)Rick Aleshire

Re: On the Road to National
I hope your trip is going well. I went out last night and put the car on the hoist to check the suspension bolts & nuts, drive shaft & half shaft connections, rear differential and transmission oil levels. I then checked the spark plugs, the remaining fluid levels, belts, hoses and lights & signals. Tonight is road test night a quick clean up and then doing a spare parts and tools inventory. When driving a C2 you just never know what might happen, I have enough spare parts, water pump, alternator, fuel pump, coil, dist cap and rotor, points/condenser, wheel bearings, belts, hoses, etc that I have carried on past road tours and thankfully the only thing I have had to replace was a fuel pump at the Bowling Green Regional meet in 2005.
See you in Rolla I will be driving a red 1964 convertible with a white top, knock-off wheels and Nebraska historical plates. I attached a picture of the car taken at the 2005 National Meet in Park City, Utah.
