    Delco Shock ID

Can anyone identify these rear shocks? They are Delco shocks and look like the same configuration as 63-82 Corvette. However, I cannot find any reference for the Delco part number stamped on them of 4975425. The date codes indicate they were manufactured in 1976.

    Thanks!

I can't ID most on-shock part numbers. These are Delco Chassis part numbers which means they can be applicable to any GM car or truck. That represents a huge "universe" of possible applications. There are other shock absorbers that, configuration-wise, are similar or identical to Corvette.

All that being said, I don't think these are Corvette shocks. Many (but not all) of the Corvette on-shock part numbers I have reference for and I don't find this number. Still, it is possible they are Corvette. What color are they painted?

Thanks Joe. They are painted the same color as the originals for my 65. I also compared them side by side and they have the same configuration as well. I'm thinking you are correct that they are not for Corvette. I don't have any history other than I received them along with other Corvette parts, but that means little.

        Thanks!
