    Tachometer dates and numbers

I have a tachometer that has a date JU1 21 6A60569. Thease numbers are on the back of the face with an ink stamp and are hard to read so a number could be wrong. This is in a 1971. I could not find any information in the AIM or any books I have as to how to read the date and what the part number was used for.
    .
    Thanks

"6A60569" does not "compute" as a GM part number. However, I strongly suspect that the "6A6" part of the number is actually "646". The "0569" does not "compute", either, as the last 4 digits of any part number used for a 1971 tach. So, I suspect the last 4 digits are actually "9566" making the number 6469566. If so, this is the tachometer used for 1969-71 Corvettes with base engine. The tach redline and pale green numerals may further confirm that.

Try JU (June) 1, 71. Does that date work for your car? There is usually a paper tag with two or three letters on it that is the broadcast code for the instrument assembly. That won't help much, since I know of no compilation of those codes.

The red line is 6500. I checked the ink stamp again and 6469569 is more what I see. The last number is a small zero and the tail is not up but looks more like it is a 9.The first six numbers are what you thought they were 646956. It is pale green numbers.
        Thanks

June 1 71 would work as the build date is K-23 June 23 1971. The paper tag is missing in action. The stamp is JU1 double space 21.
          Thanks

GM #6469569 is the tach used for 1970 Corvettes with LT-1. Although I don't show it for 1971 Corvettes, I strongly suspect it was the unit used for 1971 LT-1, too. It was not used for 1972 LT-1, though.
