1966- proper place to bolt negative cable

My negative cable was on the the starter bolt, I don't believe that is correct. I thought more like one of the bell housing bolts ? I know you guys can tell me the proper place. 66 327/350 hp vert.

I believe the short starter attaching bolt is the correct attachment point for the battery ground cable for your application UNLESS you also have C-60. In that case, the ground cable attaches to one of the bellhousing bolts.

Not sure what a C60 is, but i guess it was in the correct location thank you.

C60 is factory air conditioning.

As a follow up, I have a 67 327/350 without A/C. My negative battery cable is attached on one of the bellhousing bolts and I need to replace it. Is this correct or should it be on the starter bolt? Thanks!
