Is there a difference in the 15x6 "DC" rally wheel and a 15x6 "DG"?

Re: 1967 Rally Wheels "DC" vs "DG"
As far as I have been able to figure the DC wheels came in an early and a late configuration. The early, January 67 and earlier, was a large "DC" and the February and later 1967 was a small "DC". The "DG" was a wheel that was introduced very late in 1967 production and is a 15 X 6 wheel, I have an original "DG" from a late July car in my possession now. So you need to look at the production date of your car and determine which wheel you'll need on your car. I hope this is of some help and I do know there are a few wheel experts out there. I know of one that is at Bloomington this weekend and he is who I learned what I have shared with you from. Best regards, RickRick Jones

I also agree DG is used on corvettes, I have one in nice condition purchased at Carlisle years ago and it's 15x6 JK. I thought corvettes used all large letters and my memory tells me small dc is used on station wagon in 69.- Top

Re: 1967 Rally Wheels "DC" vs "DG"
Fellas: I have just pulled wheels off my 66 and found "FW" and "FI" codes on them. Are these Camaro or Monte Carlo wheels? I looked in Dobbins, Noland Adams, the JG, and researched the archives. I can't find these codes anywhere. Can you help me? Thanks, Gary- Top

Re: 1967 Rally Wheels "DC" vs "DG"
Gary,
I think FI codes are correct service replacement wheels for 67 vette and proper offset. Corvette wheels are offset different than other 15x6 rally's used on other models. I have two FI wheels out in the shed, I will check tomorrow and let you know.- Top

I think Jim meant C vs G. I agree they are essentially interchangable. DGs were used except for very early and maybe the very late cars. You see just about as many DGs as DCs. All small lettered dc` s that I have ever seen were dated `68 and later.- Top

Re: 1967 Rally Wheels "DC" vs "DG"
"FW"-coded wheels are 15" x 7" with +0.3" offset, and were used on 70-72 Monte Carlo; the same wheel was also coded "YH" when used on '69 Camaro Z/28 and '69 Camaros with JL8 4-wheel disc brakes.- Top

Re: 1967 Rally Wheels "DC" vs "DG"
John: You are correct. The FW wheels are 15X7 but according to the other markings on them, they were produced in 1974 (K-1-4). Also, do you know anything about the FI coded wheels which are 15x6. The other markings on those wheels are (K-1-2) and (15x6 JK). Are they service replacement wheels like Timothy thinks? Thanks.Last edited by Gary W.; June 30, 2008, 08:37 PM.- Top

Re: 1967 Rally Wheels "DC" vs "DG"
Hi James:
My car (S/N 15586) was assembled around April 5, 1967. All of the wheels have a large DC and are dated March 67.- Top
