Stay on top of this thread.

The only way the JG gets new input is if you make direct contact with the Team Leader or the JG Revision team. Or better yet become part of that team and learn what goes into writing, revising and updating the manual.

Gee, I don't know why that would be. It works for me even at work.

Click on the first "NCRS Technical Discussion Board" link above.

Page down to the bottom link on that page -- that should be it. It is an announcement for the organization of the 1970-72 JM revision team. Stan is going to outline the tasks following the Seven Springs Regional.

          Terry,

          Apparently you're "special."
I, too, cannot open that link, and there is no such announcement in the location you describe on my page.

I just found out how special I am. The linked thread is open to revision team members only. Apparently I got a job I didn't know about -- just like work.
            Sorry guys.

The point is we can go on and on about these things, but unless the need for a change is communicated to the appropriate team leader, or the JM revision team, the manual will not change. It may not change anyway, but without the communication it certainly will not.

              Hmmm.
I assisted with the last one - I'll have to check with Stan if I'm special enough for this one or not.

Sure Patrick, put in for it -- now that you are retired you'll have time on your hands.

If you need a letter of referal, [I]'ll be glad to help.

                    Re: Starter Restoration Question ....

Way back when I was judging chassis, the thought was that the starters were all painted... Heard that from a couple of guys that knew a heck of a lot more about starters than I did, so that's what I went with.

In the past two years, there have been three original cars that have been judged with unpainted starters and a couple other cars that have been restored where the owner was certain that the starter was unpainted before restoration (yours is one of those Bill).

It is probably time to rethink the painted starter issue and see if we can't discover why some were apparently unpainted and the serial number range that may have been affected.

                    Patrick,

You're plenty "special"... I'll see that John adds your name to the list.

Good to see you at Seven Springs!

                    Regards,

                    Stan

However, I've inspected Dave's car enough to know that the starter on that car has, in all likelihood, never been changed.

So true!! We judged a 78 Anniversary with 30 miles in Pitt Friday, It had a engine that was painted best as we could tell Ford blue. Go figure!!!
