    C1 Turn Signal

Does anyone have a picture of a working signal cancelling switch assembly mounted in the steering column housing? If so can they please send me a copy (markradin@live.com). Mine has never worked. Perhaps something is missing, broken or worn out. Should there be a roller over the studs that are above and below the actual electrical switch? Rollers that perhaps the sprung arms from the switch assembly rest/roll on? Any other comments would be appreciated. An archive search as not helped. Thanks

Thanks for the reply Gary -

Seems the shafts that are above and below the actual electrical switch have brass(ish) rollers or bushes. They are both missing from mine. Any clue where I can buy them? CC and CA do not have them listed. When was Roys posting - perhaps he mentions a source in that. Thanks again.

One roller missing on my '62 as well. So I found a used one to replace it. I did have the old mechanical switching mechanism, but bought new, to elliminate any problems. WRONG. The new mechanism DOES NOT work. I will not hold into right or left position. The geometry is apparently not correct. I rescued the old mechanism and now it works great. The trick though is getting the darn housing to get tight on the column and stay tight!

            David...
Great article in the spring 2007 restorer....Remove the lock wedge, and dip the contact surface partially in a rubberized coating solution. (Grip Dip or equal) dry for 24 hours and reinstall....
