    65 L79 Fuel Pump Fittings

I have repro chrome fittings on my 40083 fuel pump. I just noticed that the LIC catalog shows brass fittings instead of chrome. The JG does not specify which is correct. Will the brass fittings seal any better, and which is correct?

I just fired up the engine for the first time after several years of restoration. Then I noticed fuel leaking from everywhere. It leaked from the sending unit, the fuel pump, and poured out of the secondaries. I corrected the sending unit and secondaries, but I always seem to struggle with getting the fuel pump fitting to seal.

Well, I installed the LIC line and a brass fitting at the fuel pump with no leaks! Yea! Anyone know which is correct, for the fuel pump fittings - brass or chrome?

    Thanks!

The inlet side uses a cad-zinc right angle fitting to the hose. The outlet is a brass fitting into which the chrome plated fitting on the chrome plated line is screwed as best I can remember.
