Axle length measurement

From where is the axle length measured? The splined end is obvious but I am not sure from what point to measure on the bearing end.

Mike, from the splined end to the outside (brake side)of the hub flange. Use a square on the flange end and hold the at the point on the square where it's equal to the hub. Gary....

Thanks Gary. I have the axles out for rear end work and while I am at it want to double check the lengths to spec.
