May be an eleven year old thread BUT Billy Dawson and SRIII are still the best in the business. The others are just Wanna Beeee's!!!! And poor ones at that!!!!!!!!!

Billy Dawson may be one of the "the best in the business" (and I like him, he's genuinely a nice guy) but he is still pedaling 35 year old C4 suspension systems on his C1 frames. C1's may need aggressive underneath body mods to make coilovers fit, but if I'm going the resto-mod route that's what I'm looking for.

            Re: C1 Custom frames

Talked to Billy Dawson last Saturday at Lakeland and his frame designs may be a bit long in the tooth but they are still superb, I know one builder of 30 restomods that won't use anything but the Corvette Corrections rollers and one advantage of a prolific design is that all the issues have been ironed out.

Here's a sobering thought, Billy has been selling two C1 restomod frames per week, for YEARS. When I was told that I said, "...you mean per month?". No, each week. So at 100 frames yearly you have to wonder how many original C1s will be running around before long.

I've driven this car with a Dawson roller under it - and guess who now owns it ?
