Yes. Craigslist. It was bought last month by a fellow in WI. I have many pics of the car. I know nothing of the restorer in Dayton. I'd love to see his vin tag though and compare it to the one in WI. John Hutchins has #100 as a CA car some years ago. It ws originally white with red interior. The WI gypsy red car was originally white also. I wonder what documentation the Dayton car has.

If you own a 53-55, you better put it in the registry.....quick! If not, there will end up being two of them.

to clear up a couple of things, the vin on the second car is 101 not 100 as originally indicated by the seller, now for possible clarification on a few things, the car was purchased in ca. in 1963 and the color was red with a red interior, the car was reg. in ny, in 1972 as a red car and was not repainted until 1983, in a lighter shade of red, have not removed any trim from the car, but all visible areas show red paint under the lighter 1983 repaint, trunk, door jambs, behind the seats, have found no evidence of another color but plan to remove the trim and clips to see the color under the clips, the owner who purchased the car in 1963 in ca. said the car was always red and he had owned the car since 1963, i realize it may have been painted before the dealer sold the car in 1963, but does not appear to have more than two shades of red any where on the car, thoughts please, thanks

Bob, I'm so relieved to hear that ther's not a vin problem. After the fake 1953 #202 mess, I was afraid that someone was starting to duplicate 55's now. The guy on ebay is probably relieved as well.

The car you bought is a excellent restoration candidate and you should be proud of it.

            Take care,
            Brett
