Re: Frankford Plating
John,
I did the same dance with Tri-City plating in Tn. Six month run around and had to send the bumper back because a half dollar size flake of chrome came off in my hand right out of the box. I paid shipping back to them and waited two more months for the bumper. Never again with that company.
Thanks for the heads up. Frankford is now on my no go list too.- Top

Re: Frankford Plating
John, I know where you are coming from. When I restored my 61 I used Frankford for all my work. He was a bit more expensive than some of the others shops but I went with him. Most of my parts took around a year. He also said it would be a few months, which was ok with me because I was doing a frame off. It took me a few years to complete the restoration. After waiting about four months I was suppose to pick up some of my parts at Carlisle. I met his father there, he had no parts for me. After six or seven months, I had called once again looking for my parts and got his father on the phone. He was rude and started cursing at me. I was trying to be nice and he got an attitude. I guess I was not the only other person looking for their parts. He told me I had to speak to Jon. I think it was about 14 months before I received all my parts. It was a real battle. I have to say that all my parts came out really nice. He did do a great job.- Top

Re: Frankford Plating
I saw Frankford's advertisement in The Driveline, so I figued that they were reputable. I dropped off a pair of valve covers, an air cleaner lid and distributor cover on January 10th. I was quoted $675 with a three week turn around. I called several times last week to follow up since I hadn't heard from them, but no answer or machine, so I sent them a fax. They faxed me back to say that everything would be done this week. I'm still waiting to hear from them.
Other than them being a little behind schedule and not answering thier phones, I don't have any complaints. However, I'm concerned about John and Joe's experience. Does The Driveline screen its vendors? Or can anyone have an ad published simply by paying the fee?- Top
