    I don't see why you can't use a protractor or make your own simple tool to measure the 75 degrees.

    Mercedes rod bolts are torqued beyond the yield point. They can actually be reused once or twice, I think. There is a maximum length spec. Once stretched beyond that limit, they must be replaced.
