    I was able to remove the release mechanism quite easily by pulling though the inside of the door opening as you can see. I also photographed a detail of the upper garnish moulding area and I don't see holes which may suggest that it is a '59 as shown in your comparable photo.

      Here are a couple of photos of the garnish moulding area. Looks to me like it doesn't have the corresponding number of holes per your photo of the '59 retainers.

        Ok, I'd say we've narrowed it down. Later in 59 they switched the garnish molding to the 2 T-bolt type. Exclusively in 1960.

        So yours appears to be late 59 or 60.
