Recommended manufacturer for Soft Top for 60 Vette

    Hi all.

I'm going to replace the soft top on my 1960. Any particular manufacturer you have had success with?

    Regards and Thank!

        +1 on Mike's comment.

Have you by chance replaced your windshield? Some replacement glass is a bit thinner than original. If your new top is too tight, you run a risk of pulling off header on glass.

I think Al Knoch has a cut that gives you a little more room.

Dave is correct regarding replacement windshields. If so, I'd use an epoxy window bedding that secures the glass to the weatherstrip. the glass is near impossible to dislodge the glass from the rubber with the epoxy sealants. mike

            Hi David.

Thanks for the reply. Sure enough on the windshield replacement! Had it replaced and not long afterward I had the windshied pull from the frame. Top was vinyl and had shrunk quite a bit from not having it up as a habit, but yes it was right after the replacement. I am getting a new top which will be canvas from Al Knoch and I will always have it in place even though canvas shrinks less. $445 for the new top by the way.
            Regards,
            Scott

If you do have it down for awhile, park it the sun, not latched, and let it warm up a few hours before you latch it>
