My original alternator needs rebuilding or replacement. Does anyone have any suggestions for a good replacement or a reputable place to have it rebuilt? Thanks.

Alternator restorers/rebuilders advertise in the Driveline.
If you have a modicum or mechanical ability, you can rebuild the alternator yourself. It's really quite easy and no special tools are required. The complete procedure can be found in the 1965 Chevrolet Overhaul Manual.In Appreciation of John Hinckley -

To answer your question, Ken Bruno Motorsports is a terrific resource to get, both, alternators and starters rebuilt/restored to better than original specs. All diodes are correctly date stamped and all are rebuilt to 70 Amp specs. He has done several for me over the years and they always come back looking and working beautifully.

Thanks to all who responded. This is just what I was hoping to find. I will be contacting Ken Bruno soon. I've been driving my '65 for fifty-two years, and some of the original parts are in need of repair. It's good to know I can keep the originals.Comment

The two governing service/overhaul manuals for the '65 Corvette are the 1963 Corvette Shop Manual and 1965 Corvette Supplement. Overhaul procedures, including the alternator, are in the former.
1966 was the first C2 year that required Corvette owners to buy separate "service" and "overhaul" manuals that covered all passenger car model lines.
I agree that overhauling alternators is fairly straightforward for the DIYer, depending on what is required. Removing the pulley typically requires an impact wrench to break the nut loose, and an arbor press to remove the bearings.
It might help if the OP states why he thinks the alternator needs to be rebuilt or replaced.
