    1963 Battery Kill Switch

Tried installing this and the lever hits the blower motor terminal connector. Unless someone else with a non-A/C Coupe has had success with this type of switch, guess I will get try the horizontal blade version or get the green knob-style.

    Thanks in advance - Fred

Fred, I have one on my 63. I can't get to it to take a picture.

What I recall doing is taking the switch apart and reversing the switch. Others will comment I'm sure.

Frederick: That's the same one I use on my 66 Base Coupe. As Terry M. has indicated
on a past thread: IT MAKES NO DIFFERENCE IF YOU BREAK THE POSITIVE OR NEGATIVE SIDE
OF THE CIRCUIT. I break the positive side and lay that exact switch "Parallel" and reversed (as shown) to the engine.
Works great and easy to get to and also looks good-Larry

LARRY - You took the words right out of my mouth.

IIRC when I bought the above there are several options with this Top Post switch.
I bought the one with the added wingnut to secure the the cable tighter. Larry>Picture

Good point Larry. It's actually the negative post/cable that I have not been able to secure with pliers only (no kill switch installed yet). I have to take a small hammer to tap the spring ring portion down on the terminal (AC Delco 24G series). I believe it has to do with the terminal having a slight taper?

Frederick:Very true on your comment. If you buy some proper
Size washers(lock type) (Menards) you can get a very good
Tight fit with the positive cable. Larry

Marine cutoff switch in POS cable, mounted on firewall passenger foot well. Able to reach it from driver seat. Otherwise.....In an emergency you have to pull over, pop hood, allow air in to fuel the fire, get out on roadside, run around car, fight fumes, smoke and flame, reach in to flip switch.
Boats required to have a battery cutoff when fueling. After all, it is a corvette....
