That would be the one I was thinking of. It was less than a month since build date, correct?
Can you get me a few 70-72 Corvettes via time travel that are one day post delivery? That would be nice.

I've been working on a time machine for fifty plus years to go back and get a Grand Sport, Cobra, or Hemi Road Runner, no luck so far keep landing in 1973 and having to wait in the gas lines in Detroit to get enough fuel to get back to the house.

I'm with you on finding a Grand Sport that was just a "used race car".

Leif:Two sides to the coin. If you change the name to a Modified
Class then no where to bring a totally stock Corvette which would
Confuse/disillusion prospective members. The majority has voted!

            Larry,
This whole thing has me totally confused. I thought "Flight Judging" was where totally stock Corvettes were judged. Hasn't the conversation been around changing "Concours" to something more appropriate, like, "Modified"...because, that's what those cars are? Again, this is all very confusing to me...and I bet I'm not the only one

Me too, but maybe he knows something about how they are thinking of allowing bone stock cars in "Concours", aka "Modified" judging?

To each their own I guess. I just would never have any interest in having a new, or practically new, car judged. I don't need that many more trophies and certificates.

Micheal/Leaf:Couple of reasons come to light for me>There are cars out there(like mine)
that can not be judged in the Flight Class now due to rare options so Concours is the only
                  option. Please read the whole
                  thread to understand. Plus>
There are cars out there (like mine) that have a top flight already(Before the above rule
was made) and if you study the Flight Judging the points are skewed towards the original
numbers and originality and less on appearance. A lot of OWNERS want their cars judged on
stock appearance to show "How Chevrolet Delivered the car to the Chevy Dealers". If I
ever buy another Corvette again I WOULD WANT A BLUE RIBBON FROM BOTH FLIGHT JUDGING
AND CONCOURS STOCK. CASE IN POINT>We have all seen these totally original Barnfinds and cars
with all that Patina on them. eg.>oil stains on the manifolds;rusted bolts;just terrible looking
THAT HAVE EARNED TOP FLIGHT BUT WOULD NOT DO WELL IN THE CONCOURS STOCK CLASS.
I WOULD NOT WANT ONE OF THESE CARS EVEN IF SOMEONE GAVE ME ONE. SORRY;JMHO. AFTER ALL

SHOULD NOT BE CHANGED AS THE MAJORITY OF THE VOTES INDICATED. THANKS>LARRY
LEAF: You are totally wrong thinking that "ALL CARS"NOW IN THE CONCOURS CLASS ARE
                  MODIFIED.

You are correct. It exited the line on the afternoon shift on May 17. I took delivery May 31 and it arrived in Bloomington and placed for judging on June 1 and was judged June 2.

As a curious note the "in service date" which is what governs the beginning of the warrantee is May 14. This is the date the dealer is charged for the car and the date I had to pay for it. I don't know how the bean counters can justify charging for a car the isn't yet built, but those fine details are above my pay grade. I had to pay anyway.

Edit add: The Special Collection that year focused on Z06s. When I was asked if I knew anyone with a new C8 Z06, I asked: "How new do you want?" I think I delivered.

I recognize this kind of behavior doesn't make sense to a lot of people. Just remember that much of what we do doesn't make sense to those who have no interest in cars or Corvettes. Just enjoy the drive.

                      Larry,
First off, you don't have to yell (ALL CAPS)...I can hear perfectly fine. Secondly, do me the courtesy of spelling my name correctly.
Thirdly, I have read the whole thread and I still don't understand.
So, like I stated earlier I'm sure I'm not the only current NCRS member (27 years BTW) who doesn't have a clear understanding of this new "Concours" class. And, if I don't understand it, your attempt to attract new members to the NCRS with a new (mind boggling, muddled) class isn't going to have its' desired effect. JMHO.
