Thank you John for posting this and thank you to you and Sophia for your hard work to get this resolved. Here we have a situation where an individual was looking to drag down a great organization and inflict pain on the members.

The thing I want to know is WHO brought said individual into the leadership of this organization and WHY they did? That member or members exercised such exceedingly poor judgement that they should be barred from ever holding a position of responsibility in NCRS if not banished entirely from the ranks.

Bingo! I agree 1,000% Joe. The perpetrators of that coup have cost this organization a tremendous financial burden. They should no longer be allowed to participate in any shape form or fashion.

Joe, if we are thinking of the same person, I believe the members you refer to are already gone from executive positions. But, they remain just members like you and I.

if the IRS did not provide the whistle blower anonymity, and even if there is " no blood in the turnip (which I doubt)", then at least I and apparently a bunch of other NCRS members would at least like the identity of the whistle blower made public. As far as which members participated in the coup, I believe a list of board members who voted for the coup can be found in the minutes of the board meeting of said coup. Mike McCagh

Indeed, and if you have forgotten, those who voted should be remembered by all. It becomes part of the expensive lesson learned I referred to.

The total cost of the litigation resulting from the President’s resignation in January 2023 and this IRS audit was $196,000 in legal and accounting fees.

We thought the NCRS membership should know.

Is this $196,000 figure the TOTAL cost of the suit NCRS brought against Shannon?

I remember a post by Mike Ingham (which I just spent three hours unsuccessfully searching for) that indicated that line item on the last financial report was not the entirety of the club's legal expenses regarding that action. At my age I am used to having my memory corrected, so don't hesitate to enlighten me.

Grievances! Grievances by an individual gone unresolved or, even acknowledged by an organization bring out this sort of sad behavior. So, while members seek out the individual, equally it should seek out the grievance, unresolved, unacknowledged, or whatever, by the organization, in this case leadership, targeted by the whistleblower.

It also shows the tenacity of the financial officer team to get it right along the way, and over many years. John & Sophia are to be commended for their fine work over those years.

Kudos to John and Sophia for the professional and successful dealing with the vindictive nonsense generated by some individuals. NCRS and the members have paid the price of admission to know who caused all this.

                            Joe,
As McCagh mentioned the February 24, 2022 BoD minutes contain the election details and can be seen in the Corvette Restorer magazine beginning on page 44 of Volume 49 #1 Summer 2022. I have attached an image of the first page of the minutes for those who may not have that issue.

                                Mike,

Perhaps using the Freedom of Information Act directed towards the Dept. of Labor or the IRS could provide the answer if someone was motivated enough.
