      You may be right and it may be because I'm a technoklutz when dealing with FI units. However, rest assured that I'm trying everything I know to keep it on the car--it's a Top Flight all original car after all. But as Clint Eastwood famously said, "a guy has to know his limitations." Please know that even if I substitute a carburetor for the injector, it's only a temporary measure while it's being gone over by an expert. I simply won't be prey to the foibles of a 60+ year old device, when I want to drive the car I will. If I eliminate everything else that can be wrong and only the injector remains as the cause, then it's time to have it looked at. Nothing permanent.

        Would the electric fuel pump be suspect? That was one of the non-stock changes and it is plausible that it could fail consistently at some period of operation?

        This was mentioned previously, but I didn't see it as being ruled out.
